Steve: I am going to preface today’s post by saying that I am not known for having a whole lot of sympathy for those things which are preventable or foreseeable. For example, before Heather and I said “I Do” I told her that I wouldn’t do two things. I wouldn’t carry or hold her purse for any reason, and I wouldn’t buy feminine hygiene products. Silly? Maybe. Stupid? Probably. Do I care? Nope, at least I made my intentions known early in our relationship.
The reason for the second is simple…that time of the month DOESN’T SNEAK UP ON YOU. Ladies, you are not surprised when it comes. In fact, sometimes you are surprised when it doesn’t. I would gladly build a separate closet for a 5 year supply of products if necessary, but sending a guy out, even one who does most of the shopping, because they weren’t bought. Yeah, no sympathy.
So today, when my wife put on the first outfit I picked out and said, I can’t wear this, and then explained why, I went back to the drawing board. Then she told me those words I can’t stand…”I have nothing to wear during this time of the month.” Really? Really? You mean, you know this event is coming and yet you don’t have special clothes just for it. Ladies buy special outfits for first dates, for specific events. Some even have their “I don’t need a job, I don’t need my parents, cause I have great boots boots.” (Name the show and character.) See…this is a predictable problem and I have no sympathy.
With that being said. I found an outfit that would work, and it ended up being pretty good.
Day 12: Jeans with Yellow Tank Top and Green Square Neck T-Shirt and Black Sneakers
In order to take on this monumental task, to make Heather more comfortable I decided to go with Jeans. She has class and won’t be cold. This is her best pair of comfortable jeans and so I picked them first. They aren’t too bad actually. Then, I set to finding the tops.
I have never really been a fan of this green top because of the square neck. I don’t think it is flattering at all. I am not sure I would like it on anyone. I didn’t want to choose it, but it seemed to be the best option for a shirt that had some give to it so that Heather would feel comfortable. So, how could I make it better?
I added the yellow tank. It certainly adds a great frill to the bottom of the shirt and the top of the tank peeps out over the square cut giving it a little shape and a pop of color. I like it. The best part is that it is Green and Gold together. Go Bulls!!!
The shoes are really not that impressive, but they work. I think Heather has had these a long time and they are probably on their last legs. They are still better than those brown closed toed monstrosities that we used last week. But I don’t think they will be around much longer. Today was all about comfort though, and they do look like they would be comfortable. The only other issue is that they hide Heather’s cute toes.
Ok, you can all comment and tell me how horrible of a person I am now. I can’t promise that I will listen, and I know I won’t change my two rules, but you are more than welcome to say whatever you want. Let’s start with Heather!
Yeah Steve had to go there, didn’t he? But, you ladies understand EXACTLY what I’m experiencing. An “I feel fat” kinda day! So, he was picking out things that made me feel even fatter because the shirts were snug. So, we ended up with this outfit, it’s still a little snug, but wearable and the jeans are my go to fat jeans. This shirt is ok, I’m not that big of a fan of it either. I probably got it on sale, I don’t know, I’ve had it forever. I never thought to put a lace cami under it, but I like the color it adds to the bottom. I say the bottom because it didn’t stay out on the top, we pulled it up for this picture. And I like the colors…Go Bulls! About the shoes, I’m not sure why they’re even still in my closet, they look ridiculous and I don’t think they go with this outfit, but I’m going with it. These shoes will be departing my closet after today. Ok, off to school now to see how I did on my mid-term!!
