Steve:  First thing first.  As most of you know, or have figured out by the title of this blog, my wife Heather is a Soldier.  She has been a part of the Active Duty Army for 11 years now.  Those who know Heather and I know that we love to be silly, have a lot of fun, and sometimes act crazy.  I have already been told, by more than one friend that this 30 day marital experiment is one of those crazy occasions.  Thank you to all the men and women of the United States military, both past and present, who make our crazy times and our freedom possible.  The final line of the Declaration of Independence reads, “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”  More than any other group, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen represent this line.  They have pledged their lives, fortunes and honor for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness outlined in that same Declaration.  I love you Heather…I love that you are a Soldier, and I love being Mr. Army Wife.

Now back to the experiment.  Day 4:  American T-Shirt w/Denim mini skirt with Navy Blue Visor and Red Flip Flops

It’s all about America today, as it should be.  On the schedule today was a BBQ at our church, so I had to dress her in something cool and comfortable with an American theme.  This outfit fits the bill completely.  Plus there are a lot of touches that make this outfit even more special.  The denim skirt is simple enough.  She wears it quite often, so I knew she wouldn’t mind it.

Heather loves the shirt.  Why?  Because it has Snoopy on it.  Talk about an American classic.  Snoopy is Heather’s favorite cartoon character.  We even have two beagles of our own because Snoopy is a beagle.  And seeing Snoopy with Woodstock on a shirt with the American Flag made it an instant sell wherever she bought it.  I like it because it matches something I wear all the time as well.

While the shirt is certainly cool, I am pretty happy that I was able to add the Atlanta Braves Navy visor to the ensemble.  I am a huge Braves fan and usually Heather would only wear the visor if she was going to a Braves game which isn’t often enough in my mind.  EarringsThe earrings are Snoopy earrings.    Pretty cool huh.  Then we have the shoes.  Heather went with a combination blue and red nail polish on her cutsy toes today.  The flip flops are basic red.  Comfortable for the holiday festivities, don’t ya think?  Day 4 Shoes 1

It’s really not hard to put together an outfit for a holiday when your wife has bought certain clothes with that holiday in mind.  I am not sure if she bought the shirt specifically for the 4th of July, but it certainly fits and with the accessories she wore freedom literally as much as the Statue of Liberty herself.  I wonder how she feels about it.


My husband is so sweet! Happy 4th, everybody! Holidays where we celebrate our great nation is always a reminder to take time to thank our armed services. Thank you to all the men and women in uniform, especially those serving overseas right now celebrating the holiday without their families. I have a lot of friends who are currently deployed to Afghanistan and am praying for them daily. Come home safe!

Today’s outfit, again another great comfortable outfit and perfect for the occasion! Another skirt I wear all the time because it’s a denim classic and goes with just about anything. They’re actually skorts, which is why I love them even more. I don’t even remember where I got the shirt, but I love Snoopy and it was perfect because it had an American flag on it and it says, “Proud to be a cool American!” I love that Steve also has the matching tattoo, that act in itself proves he is undeniably committed to me 🙂  About the toes, I had to change their color simply due to the fact that they are getting so much attention in this blog! LOL! And it was fun to mix up the colors.
